The sign-on book
Paper works. It just cannot be in two places at once.
Plenty of clubs still run trips from a sign-on book, and there is nothing wrong with that. It is simple and everyone understands it. It does have limits.

How a trip runs

EddyIn follows the process your club already uses. Nothing new to learn beyond where to tap.
Before the trip
- Create the trip and pick the river and section
- Select paddlers from your club roster
- Add any guests paddling with you
- Check the headcount, then start the trip
On the water
- The trip shows as active to your club
- The leader keeps an offline copy on their phone
- Emergency contacts stay readable without reception
- Other leaders can run their own trips at the same time
After the trip
- Confirm everyone is accounted for
- Mark the trip complete
- It moves into the club archive
- Your club keeps the record
The number that matters
A headcount you can read at arm's length
Before you push off, count the group in front of you and check it against the number on the screen. If those two numbers match, you are ready to go.
Guests count too. Anyone paddling with you who is not on the club roster gets added to the trip in a few taps, with their own emergency contact.

Offline and safety
Signal drops. The trip information does not.
Rivers are not known for their mobile coverage. Once a trip has started and EddyIn has confirmed the offline copy is saved on the leader's phone, that trip stays readable with no signal at all.

EddyIn holds the details for that trip only. Your club’s full contact list is never stored on a leader’s phone, and the trip copy is removed once the trip is completed and synced.
